Paul E. Jacobs was the CEO of Google from 2004 to 2005. He was born in 1963 and earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. After working for a few years as an engineer, he joined Google in 1999 as its vice president of engineering. He became the CEO in 2004, but stepped down after just one year to become the chairman of the board. In 2012, he returned to Google as a part-time advisor.
